The Seaside and Creativity

Learning about creativity and the creative process makes me want to have time to explore my own creativity. Taking time out in order to nurture my creativity is something I have had no time to do. I have attached a photo of Thornwick Bay somewhere I need to go to escape all the chaos and re-discover this lost creativity! A place filled with happy memories and inspiration need to get it booked in.

Knit A Square

Working on my MA developed my working ethos as a designer. I explored the concept of sustainability within textiles identifying how traditional and sometimes historic skills from the past can contribute to creating more sustainable design for the future. The Knit a Square project formed part of this idea, looking at how a community could work together to contribute to a cooperative project. Each square represented a member of the community and the final product outcomes could then be dismantled to construct different outcomes. I want to translate this within my future work exploring artefact and meaning.

Inspired to Write

Inspired by Francis I aim to take thought and develop it through text to establish my personal link between inspiration and design. Consistency is needed in this process something I need to consciously be aware of. As a practionner my process is thoughtful, my intention is to be more active in my own work and incorporate this element to revisit my own creativity.
